Marvel's first family has the worst hit rate in superhero cinema. The unreleased 1994 film was made to retain rights and never intended for release. The 2005 film and its Silver Surfer sequel are lightweight but honest. The 2015 reboot is a cautionary tale about studio interference. First Steps (2025) finally got it right by going retro-futurist and setting the whole thing in a 1960s that never happened.
Watch order is simply release order; none of the previous films carry into First Steps. Marvel's official Doomsday list includes it, because Galactus and the Silver Surfer debut there and both are in the film.
